WordPress and YouTube are a match made in internet-entrepreneur heaven.
You can use your WordPress blog to promote your YouTube channel, and you can use your YouTube channel to promote your WordPress blog. This cross-pollination will help you expand your presence on both platforms.
In this post, I’ll show you how to add a YouTube subscribe button to WordPress posts. Trust me – this tiny red button will have a huge impact on your visitor engagement stats.
How To Add A YouTube Subscribe Button To WordPress Posts
There are two ways to add a YouTube subscribe button to your posts: you can use code, or you can use a plugin.
1. Add The Button Using Code
Thankfully, you don’t need to be a tech wizard to use code to add the button. Google makes it easy for you.
First, go to the Google Developer site. This resource is full of documentation, discussion threads, and open source code for Google products.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “All Products” in the footer menu. This will take you to the Product Index. Scroll down to the “Y” section of the Product Index and select “YouTube Subscribe Button”.
On the left side of the YouTube Subscribe Button page, there’s an option called “Configure a Button”. This allows you to customize your button. You can set the channel name, layout, and theme. You can also choose whether to display the subscriber count – if you don’t have a lot of subscribers at the moment, you might want to hide it.
When you finish customizing your button, copy the code from the “Code” field.
To add this code to your WordPress site, log in to WordPress and go to the “Appearance” section of your dashboard. Open the “Widgets” tab and look for the Custom HTML widget. This can be dragged to where you want your YouTube Subscribe button to go.
Finally, paste the code in the content section of your new widget. Your YouTube Subscribe button will now appear in your posts.
2. Add The Button Using A Plugin
The second method is to add the button using a plugin. We recommend the YouTube Subscribe Bar plugin, which is free. It’s easy to set up and use as well.
After you install YouTube Subscribe Bar, go to the “Settings” section of your WordPress dashboard and choose the plugin. This allows you to enter your YouTube channel ID and customize the appearance of the button.
Save your settings, and then you’re done. That wasn’t so hard, was it?
